Friday Racing Tips - 28th June
We have done all the form and come up with five outstanding chances today as we look to build a betting bank for the weekend.
Tamworth and Geelong are our venues for today’s racing. Our expert has come up with five excellent chances as we look to head into the weekend full of confidence and our best of the day comes from the Victorian venue. This promising youngster rattled home after being luckless for most of the race last time out. Definitely worth following.
Tamworth is racing on a Good 4 with the rail in the true
Geelong is racing on a Heavy 10 with the rail in the true position.
Tamworth Race 1 - 12:15PM Carlton United Breweries Showcase Maiden Handicap (1200 Metres)
Taking a chance with INKJET which is making its debut here. Trained by Kristen Buchanan, this filly has had just two trials and one of those was back in October when four lengths off Not A Royal Doubt and two lengths behind subsequent Golden Slipper winner Kiamichi. Warmed up for this with a second at the Newcastle trials on June 14. Doesn’t look a strong field so is capable of winning with luck.
1st: No9 INKJET 2nd: No1 Manno; 3rd: No2 Hercules Mo; 4th: No4 Rye Dee Oh
Geelong Race 1 - 12:30PM Bet365 Two-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Plate (1300 Metres)
TREVI DREAMS (BEST BET) had the flashing light on her when charging home on debut on this track a fortnight back. Was held up until early in the straight and by the time she got out it was all over but that didn’t stop her from savaging the line. She eventually finished third, beaten three lengths, behind Moonlight Maid. That was on a Heavy so getting on top of the ground may assist her. Has drawn six and is likely to settle no worse than midfield. Has a big motor and is out of the hot Maher & Eustace camp.
1st: No16 TREVI DREAMS 2nd: No13 Presently; 3rd No14 Prophecies; 4th: No11 Namino
Geelong Race 4 - 2:00PM McGrath Estate Agents Maiden Plate (1200 Metres)
We are going for one out of the astute Henry Dwyer camp in THERE YOU ARE (NEXT BEST BET). The gelding is first-up since January when he led and battled on to finish fifth to Age Of Chivalry which was very competitive in far better races than this. On debut, There You Are was close up behind the talented Poised To Strike. Is good enough to win if fit.
1st: No8 THERE YOU ARE 2nd: No2 Deploys Alone; 3rd: No16 Spirit Medium; 4th: No13 Frankie Blue
Tamworth Race 4 - 2:05PM Cellarbrations Country Only Showcase Maiden Handicap (1000 Metres)
Todd Howlett’s runner TWO BIG FARI looks set to break his maiden after a promising debut on June 7. The son of Walking Or Dancing bounced out of the gates and landed behind the leader, however, that leader turned out to be the very smart Zaniah which streaked away to score by 3.34 lengths. The form has been franked with the former Kiwi winning smartly again at Scone earlier this week. Two Big Fari battled on hard that day and from barrier one is likely to posse up close to the action again. Hard to hold out.
1st: No3 TWO BIG FARI 2nd: No2 Craigs My Boy; 3rd: No1 What The Fuss; 4th: No7 Call Me Trinity
Geelong Race 8 - 4:00PM The Tipsy Colt BM64 Handicap (1500 Metres)
Handy gelding MY MOTHER SAYS has a bit of a task in front of him here with 61kgs but has been racing really well of late and is worthy of a ticket. Attempted to lead throughout in stronger company last time out but weakened slightly to finish just 2.35l off Pria Eclipse at Sandown. Before that lumped 62kgs to win here. Is handy on wet tracks and will press forward from barrier four and should be hard to toss for the John Sadler / Daniel Stackhouse combo.
1st: No1 MY MOTHER SAYS 2nd: No2 Czechoslovakia; 3rd: No6 Scarface Romeo; 4th: No4 Lord Lennox
