Monday Racing Tips - 22nd July

We’ve got tips for Ballarat and Scone with two of our stronger tips going around on the Synthetic down south.

Fri, 19 Jul, 12:00 AM

Finding winners on Synthetic tracks isn’t the easiest of assignments, however, we are pretty confident on three horses going around at Ballarat today. Our best of the bunch is a noted leader and will be throwing punches at the finish once more. The Scone card has also caught our eye with a couple from the Cavanough and Denham stables worth throwing a few dollars on.

Ballarat is racing on the Synthetic with the rail true.

Scone is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail in the true.

Scone Race 1 - 12:55pm Hellbent@Yarraman Park Maiden Plate (1600 Metres)

Brett Cavanough’s EGYPTIAN AMULET could benefit by getting out to a mile. The handy gelding was fourth here on July 12 behind Manno after racing close to the speed for most of the trip. Was a drifter in betting that day. Give another go in this.

1st: No2 EGYPTIAN AMULET 2nd: No6 Fashion Icon; 3rd: No1 Crime Wave; 4th: No8 Oakfield Tickets

Ballarat Race 2 - 1:30pm The Haymarket Maiden Plate (2200 Metres)

Going to take a punt on LOFTY HEIGHTS (BEST BET) as it maps to be on the speed for most of the journey. This Julius Sandhu-trained gelding has led at both runs since resuming but and finished runner-up over the mile on each occasion. Should find the top again from barrier one and the extra distance here could definitely play in his favour. Hard to beat.

1st: No3 LOFTY HEIGHTS 2nd: No9 Stormy Elect; 3rd: No1 Captain Morgan; 4th: No4 Nero To Hero

Ballarat Race 3 - 2:00pm Champion Estate, Ballarat 3YO Maiden Plate (1200 Metres)

ABUNDANCE will be a definite improver in this after being luckless first-up. The son of Spirit Of Boom was trapped four-wide throughout at Tatura on a Heavy 8 which ended his chances of winning fresh. Is having three weeks between runs and gets Damien Thornton aboard for this. Has placed at his only start on Synthetic. Pay to forgive.

1st: No1 ABUNDANCE 2nd: No4 High Hopes; 3rd: No7 Unshakeable; 4th: No8 Think Better Of It

Ballarat Race 4 - 2:30PM Polytrack Maiden Plate (1200 Metres)

The Hayes, Hayes & Dabernig stable has had a sensational season and we are tipping one of their juveniles here in the shape of ROCKNESS ANGEL (NEXT BEST BET). A filly by Fastnet Rock, she is giving away age to her rivals being only two-years-old and the veteran of just two starts, however, she has shown enough to suggest she will be thereabouts here. Comes into this off a second first-up on the Pakenham Synthetic when racing on the speed throughout. Can go one better.

1st: No10 ROCKNESS ANGEL 2nd: No1 Mister Hay Zee; 3rd: No9 Yitai Loyalty; 4th: No5 Ibanez

Scone Race 5 - 3:20pm The Hunted Gourmet Class 1 Handicap (1100 Metres)

Now that PLUCK AND LUCKY has had two runs under her belt she should be ready to give this a shake. The daughter of Pluck made up good ground from the tail when resuming over 1000m at Muswellbrook before producing a similar effort when on the heels on the placegetters here on July 12. Maps to get back in the field but gets a huge bonus with the appointment of Greg Ryan in the saddle. Has a big finish and will be flying home.

1st: No5 PLUCK AND LUCKY 2nd: No4 Fritz’s Factor; 3rd: No2 Real Classic; 4th: No3 Allez Rev
