Saturday Racing Previews & Tips - Rosehill 27th July

Another great meeting at Rosehill and expecting the leading to trainers to walk away with a handful of winners this program.

Thu, 25 Jul, 12:00 AM

Rosehill is the venue for Saturday’s metro action where we are tipping comeback jock Nash Rawiller could have a big day out. The best of our selections has been loving life on the wet tracks and although this week’s surface isn’t a Heavy, winning form is good form and she is absolutely flying. The one to beat yet again.

Rosehill is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail +6m Entire.

R6: 3,5,8,11

R7: 1,7,10,11

R8: 1,4,6,11

R9: 1,4,7,10

Rosehill Race 1 - 11:40AM ASX Refinitive Charity Foundation Handicap (1200 Metres)

*SCRATCHED* TRUE DETECTIVE was narrowly beaten on this track last start behind Spend and shapes as the one they all need to beat going on that near miss. Will strip fitter second-up and should appreciate the firmer surface this time around. Hard to beat.

1st: *SCRATCHED* No1 TRUE DETECTIVE 2nd: No7 Lucicello; 3rd: No10 Vivaro; 4th: No12 Satin Socks

Rosehill Race 2 - 12:15PM TAB Highway Class 3 Plate 3 (1500 Metres)

THE WARLORD will be ready to peak third-up from a spell and looks a leading contender. Chased hard but couldn’t hold off The Outcast in a driving finish at Scone last start. Steps out an extra 100m for this and gets Nash Rawiller on board. This Cam Crockett runner is one to follow.

1st: No7 THE WARLORD 2nd: No2 Pat’s Nipper; 3rd: No4 Onemore Sapphire; 4th: No1 Show Me The Honey

Rosehill Race 3 - 12:50PM Refinitiv Handicap (1200 Metres)

Drawn to get the run of the race sees CONNEMARA very hard to beat. Hasn’t raced for five weeks when narrowly beaten by the flying Notation at Randwick. Gets to a Good surface where she is a three-time winner. Key player.

1st: No2 CONNEMARA 2nd: No3 Jardin Rouge; 3rd: No5 Stella Sea Sun; 4th: No6 Princess Lottie

Rosehill Race 4 - 1:25PM Pro It Handicap (1350 Metres)

Hard to go past the in-form RIVER BIRD (BEST BET) that’s looking to make it four wins on the trot here today. The Jason Coyle-trained filly has been ultra-impressive and the way she wore down Star Reflection on this track last start showed her class. In a purple patch of form on wet ground, however, her strike rate isn’t as good on firmer going. Still the one to beat.

1st: No5 RIVER BIRD 2nd: No2 Fortensky; 3rd: No1 Gresham; 4th: No7 Mapmaker

Rosehill Race 5 - 2:00PM Robb Report Handicap (2400 Metres)

After giving his rivals a galloping lesson winning by 4.7 lengths at Doomben last start, this Matthew Smith-trained galloper IIWENDO is the one they all need to beat. Look for him to jump to the lead, control the race and prove hard to run down. Has the form and should relish the distance. Major player.

1st: No6 IIWENDO 2nd: No4 Kaapfever; 3rd: No8 Jake’s Hill; 4th: No2 Cedar Grande

Rosehill Race 6 - 2:40PM Next Telecom Handicap (1400 Metres)

WIMLAH produced the best final furlong sectionals when defeating Front Sight by half a length at Warwick Farm last start we think this Waterhouse/Bott-trained filly can do it again. Is fitter for two runs back from a spell and although meeting Front Sight 2kg worse off at the weights, shapes as a good chance. Nash Rawiller takes the ride.

1st: No5 WIMLAH 2nd: No8 Front Sight; 3rd: No3 Ligulate; 4th: No11 My Demetra

Rosehill Race 7 - 3:20PM Maldives Travel Connection Winter Challenge (1500 Metres)

NICCI’S GOLD hasn’t had much luck of late but if she gets it today you can secure juicy odds about her. Settled near the rear of the field before coming home strong to be beaten less than half a length behind Eckstein on this track a fortnight back. Will appreciate the 1500m.

1st: No11 NICCI’S GOLD 2nd: No7 Take it Intern; 3rd: No10 Goodfella; 4th: No1 Stampede

Rosehill Race 8 - 4:00PM Precise Air Handicap (1100 Metres)

Third-up from a break sees BON AMIS (NEXT BEST BET) ready to repay his followers after being a costly conveyance last time out. Was heavily tried in early markets here on June 29 but after racing on the speed, faded out of it to finish ninth of 11 but beaten less than three lengths behind Top Striker. Gets a firmer track, which he appreciates, and Hugh Bowman is a key booking. Ready to repay the faithful.

1st: No4 BON AMIS 2nd: No6 Top Striker; 3rd: No1 Delectation Girl; 4th: No11 Taniko

Rosehill Race 9 - 4:40PM Pacific Boating Handicap (1100 Metres)

GREYWORM is resuming from a 20-week spell and with a solid trial victory under his belt, we are expecting this gelding to take a power of beating in the final event of the program at Rosehill today. Gets in well with the 3kg claim and reports suggest he will be ready to fire. Big watch.

1st: No1 GREYWORM 2nd: No4 Rare Episode; 3rd: No7 Prime Candidate; 4th: No10 Oxford Tycoon
