Monday Racing Tips -12th August
A Synthetic track specialist headlines our selections for today’s racing as we aim to get the week off to a flying start!
We have come up with five outstanding chances for today’s racing with the majority of those tips coming via the Pakenham Synthetic track. Our best of the day loves the surface and is a recent winner at Ballarat when powering away to win by nearly 3.5 lengths. Drawn well and will be throwing punches at the finish.
Pakenham is racing on the Synthetic with the rail in the true.
Lismore is racing on a Soft 5 with the rail +2.5m 1516m-70mm, +4m 700m-350m, cutaway applies
Pakenham Race 2 - 2:00PM Schweppes Maiden Plate (1100 Metres)
ASHBROOK did enough last start to suggest she will be better for the outing. Led them for most of the field before weakening the final little bit over 1200m at Mildura so the drop back in trip looks as though it will suit. Ran into the smart Mecklenberg County on debut. Gets the flying Linda Meech on board for this.
1st: No10 ASHBROOK 2nd: No9 Wolf Boss; 3rd: No8 Sacer Vates; 4th: No4 Stephen’s Green
Lismore Race 3 - 2:10PM Moet & Chandon Marquee Cup Day 4YO & Up Maiden Plate (1000 Metres)
Love the way NANNY’S PRIMED went last time out and off that effort she can win this. Worked overtime from a wide gate to find the spot outside the leader which wouldn’t relinquish the front. She put paid to that runner but couldn’t hold off Colleoni at the end. Gets a firmer surface and a far better barrier (1) to what she has been served up of late. Can lead them up, or take a sit, and be extremely hard to beat at the finish.
1st: No8 NANNY’S PRIMED 2nd: No6 Korrin; 3rd: No4 Shishaq; 4th: No9 Niv
Pakenham Race 3 - 2:30PM Polytrack F&M Maiden Plate (1200 Metres)
Resuming from a break, FRIVOLOSOPHY can get the job done for Team Hawkes. The daughter of Tavistock has only had the one career run and that was back in March when leading at Sandown and running a mighty race for third behind Hurricane Fighter. That horse then went on to win again to frank the form. Has drawn wide in 13 but likely to press forward and shapes as a strong chance.
1st: No6 FRIVOLOSOPHY 2nd: No5 Frolicks; 3rd: No3 Encircle; 4th: No1 Ahadi Farasi
Pakenham Race 6 - 4:00PM XXXX Gold BM58 Handicap (1400 Metres)
There’s no doubt that MILITARY STRIKER (BEST BET) enjoys racing on the Synthetic so he is our on top choice here. The gelding won on the Ballarat Synthetic on debut two starts back before fighting hard when on the speed last time at the same track, eventually finishing second to Ian in Class 1 company. Draw two, maps to find the front and should run another cracking race again.
1st: No4 MILITARY STRIKER 2nd: No6 Fighting Faith; 3rd: No2 Ardee; 4th: No1 Miss Mo
Pakenham Race 8 - 5:00PM Sportsbet – Grubs On Tour BM64 Handicap (1200 Metres)
BLOOD OATH (NEXT BEST BET) fought on doggedly after being challenged here on July 21 and will be fitter for the outing. He was first-up on that occasion and did win second-up at his only other attempt. The Enver Jusufovic-trained runner is promising and will be running on at the finish.
1st: No3 BLOOD OATH 2nd: No4 Ruban Bleu; 3rd: No1 Tykiato; 4th: No10 Quora
