Royal Randwick hosts Moet & Chandon Spring Champion Stakes Day today and what a bumper card of racing we have despite the anticipating of rain heading to Sydney. Our top pick was sensational in winning a Group 3 last start and is eyeing off today’s Group 1. Could be the perfect lead-up to a shot at the Victoria Derby.

Randwick is racing on a Good 4 with the rail +6m 1600m – WP, +4m remainder.

QUADDIE:

R6: 1,2,4,8

R7: 1,2,3,4

R8: 3,7,9,11

R9: 1,2,3,14

Randwick Race 1 - 1:10PM TAB Highway Handicap (1600 Metres)

EMANUELA has won her past two starts and is on track to rack up the hat-trick. Liked the way this galloper finished off her race when defeating Couru by 1.7 lengths at Scone leading into this and on that she is our top pick. Maps to get back but has the flying Nash Rawiller aboard. Big watch.

1st: No4 EMANUELA 2nd: No7 Gotta Want It; 3rd: No3 Black Wand; 4th: No8 Weather Channel

Randwick Race 2 - 1:45PM Harrolds Handicap (2000 Metres)

MASTER OF WINE (NEXT BEST BET) has placed at both of his starts since resuming from a break and going on his third to Junipal on this track a fortnight ago, he will take a power of beating. Out of the astute Hawkes stable, this galloper gets in well down in the weights and can handle rain affected ground. Looks well placed.

1st: No12 MASTER OF WINE 2nd: No11 Re Edit; 3rd: No8 Rapido Chaparro; 4th: No4 Milk Man

Randwick Race 3 - 2:20PM Cerrone Handicap (1400 Metres)

GREYWORM has drawn to get the run of the race and is worth following. Won here two starts back and then filled third behind Sweet Scandal a fortnight back. Expected to settle closer today and look for him to let rip once B Avdulla pushes the go button. Serious player and looks ready for 1400m.

1st: No4 GREYWORM 2nd: No10 Sure Knee; 3rd: No5 You Make Me Smile; 4th: No6 Star Reflection

Randwick Race 4 - 2:55PM Yulong Australia Stan Fox Stakes (1500 Metres)

BOTTEGA is looking to keep his unbeaten tag alive and make it three wins from as many starts in his toughest test to date. Steps up to city grade after saluting at Hawkesbury and Newcastle and the raps from the stable are high. Looks to have a serious motor and expected to be the one rattling home with a furlong to go. Can remain undefeated!

1st: No1 BOTTEGA 2nd: No3 Brandenburg; 3rd: No9 Kooweerup; 4th: No6 Colada

Randwick Race 5 - 3:30PM Polytrack Roman Consul Stakes (1200 Metres)

COSMIC FORCE let the punters down when resuming from a lengthy spell at Rosehill in the Heritage Stakes but with that run under his belt, we expect this boom colt to bounce back. Reports suggest he has worked up a storm since that run. Fitter and loves any give in the ground.

1st: No2 COSMIC FORCE 2nd: No1 Microphone; 3rd: No7 Dirty Wok; 4th: No4 Standout

Randwick Race 6 - 4:10PM Bentley Angst Stakes (1600 Metres)

NETTOYER is flying of late and looks perfectly placed to take out today’s event over the mile. Finished 4.5 lengths behind Kolding in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap last week when specked at big odds. Gets Group 1-winning jockey Glen Boss on board and will be finishing off hard down the straight. Should settle close to the speed from three.

1st: No2 NETTOYER 2nd: No1 Noire; 3rd: No8 Amangiri; 4th: No4 Dyslexic

Randwick Race 7 - 4:50PM MOËT & CHANDON SPRING CHAMPION STAKES (2000 Metres)

Winning from is good form and this galloper looks poised to make it back-to-back victories after winning the Group 3 Gloaming Stakes by over three lengths. SHADOW HERO (BEST BET) is a serious player and has a brilliant finishing burst which will serve him well in this. Serious horse on his way to the Victoria Derby. Will win if he handles the expected wet surface.

1st: No2 SHADOW HERO 2nd: No4 Quick Thinker; 3rd: No3 Just Thinkin’; 4th: No1 Castelvecchio

Randwick Race 8 - 5:30PM Silver Eagle (1300 Metres)

THE INEVITABLE has won seven from nine starts to date and comes to Sydney with big raps. Gave talented galloper Deprive windburn when winning by four lengths at Mooney Valley a month back and on that he rates highly here. Has drawn well and will be close enough to them rounding the final bend. Serious racehorse.

1st: No3 THE INEVITABLE 2nd: No7 Kapajack; 3rd: No11 Fasika; 4th: No9 Buffalo River

Randwick Race 9 - 6:05PM Drinkwise Handicap (1100 Metres)

BALLISTICA will be ready to peak fourth-up from a break and despite the wide draw, she’s a serious hope to take out the final event of the day. Expect to see her take a position near the rear and be saved for one crack at them down the Randwick straight. Possesses a good turn of foot on her day so watch for her to be rocketing home late. Win won’t shock.

1st: No14 BALLISTICA 2nd: No1 Black Magnum; 3rd: No2 Poised To Strike; 4th: No3 Agent Pippa
