Super Bowl LIII

We come now to the biggest game of all and nothing can ever prepare you for just how it takes over a city in the week leading up to the Super Bowl. A lot of these Rams players will be experiencing it for the first time, and I think how they deal with it will be crucial to how this game goes.

The Patriots are used to it, used to the media and the long preparation, and they’ve been all business so far. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Brady and Belichick, who will look to avenge their defeat 12 months ago.

I think they are better than last year. Sony Michel has been a huge plus, and with White and Burkhead playing at a high level, they have a great trio of backs to call upon. Their O-line has been playing well too, they aren’t allowing Brady to be sacked, allowing him to do what he does best.

The jury is still out on their defence, however, and that is something that LA will look to exploit. Expect to also see some magic from their Special Teams – It’s an explosive group with a fantastic kicker in Johnny Hekker. They’re aggressive, and will always look to block punts, way more than an average team does. The Patriots will have to be on guard all the time.

That’s not even mentioning the fake trickery. We know that Sean McVay loves to throw curveballs!

I think it could come down to the Rams D, and their success on getting pressure on the inside. Suh and Donald need to get that vertical pressure on Brady. Don’t let him step up out the pocket, make him uncomfortable. If he starts getting in that groove with quick unchallenged throws, they’re in trouble.

Some football people here in Atlanta are saying that the Patriots will blow out the Rams. I just can’t see that happening, I think it will be a close one, these two are pretty evenly matched.

But I said the Rams are my pick and I’m sticking with that. It could be a landmark moment that leads to bigger things for the franchise. It’s gonna be a great game, that’s for sure!
