Manly’s premiership credentials will get a workout here when they travel to take on the unbeaten Roosters.

The Sea Eagles have arguably been the most impressive team in the competition over the past fortnight and head into this contest off the back of a 36-nil drubbing of the Bulldogs at Lottoland.

SYDNEY ROOSTERS are one of only two teams yet to taste defeat and knocked off old rivals Souths 20-6 last Thursday night.

MANLY have been ultra impressive in winning back-to-back matches.

Racking up big wins over the Cowboys and Bulldogs by an average margin of 29 points, Manly have conceded just one try during this span.

Their attack is clicking too with 33 points on average scored in the past two rounds. While this has been off the back of a big team effort, Daly Cherry-Evans’ contribution of seven try assists in the past two weeks shows he is back to his best.

The Sydney Roosters just keep getting the job done in 2017.

Four wins from as many games has them joint competition leaders but they couldn’t have been more impressive in disposing of Souths last week. Derbys are never easy to win but the chooks never seemed likely to drop the decision.

Trent Robinson has done a remarkable job in turning around last year’s 15th placed side. Their attack, headed by Luke Keary and Mitchell Pearce, is ranked in the top five while their defence second only to the Melbourne Storm and leaks just 15 points per game.

Manly will go into this with the knowledge that they’ve conquered the Roosters in three of their past four outings.

Their only meeting last season was back in Round 4 when the Sea Eagles won a tight encounter 22-20. In fact, their three recent wins over the Roosters have been by narrow margins with an average of just six points separating the sides.

A Manly win between 1-6 Points is returning a healthy $6.50 with Sportsbet.

We believe there isn’t a great deal between these sides and as such are leaning towards the value option in Manly ($3.20 @ Unibet).

The form of Cherry-Evans and Tom Trbojevic make this game an exciting prospect and will see just how far Trent Barrett’s side have come in the past few weeks.

Sydney Roosters are one of the form teams of the opening month and their attack has been simply sensational, spearheaded by gun centres Latrell Mitchell and Daniel Tupou. The addition of Michael Gordon in the off season has been a masterstroke by Trent Robinson too.

We don’t think there is a great deal between the sides and as such the disparity in the market could be off.

Off the back of that, we recommend going easy in this match and having something on the Sea Eagles at value. Just sit back and enjoy what should be a fascinating contest!
