Punters have a hard one to pick here with the Warriors hosting the Eels in Sunday afternoon footy.

Two of the most frustrating teams will do battle on Sunday and it’s a case of definitely looking for value here because you can’t back either team with great confidence.

New Zealand finally got their second win in the board last week when knocking off the Titans 28-22 while the Eels continue to go cold and are coming off three straight losses.

Are the Warriors ready to make a big run now?

They definitely got better as the game got on last week with Kieran Foran having his first run for 2017. The brilliant five-eighth was the missing piece in the puzzle for the Warriors who now have arguably one of the best spines in the NRL.

With Roger Tuivasa-Sheck at fullback, Foran and Shaun Johnson in the halves and Issac Luke at hooker, the Kiwis are one of the most dangerous sides in the competition – on paper!

Whether that translates to wins is another story but if their second half against the Titans last week, which saw them score 16 unanswered points to win is anything to go by, the Warriors could do some damage this season.

Parramatta’s early season form is a thing of the past as they enter this game off the back of three consecutive losses.

Is it the fact they’ve had to travel around so much and had just one home game all season? Who knows, but coach Brad Arthur will want to reverse the trend quick smart.

Last week they allowed the Canberra forward to get on top of them with the Raiders outrunning the Eels by 260 metres in total. Compounding that was the fact Parramatta conceded six penalties and missed a whopping 34 tackles.

These teams last met in Round 26 last year with the Eels scoring a comprehensive 40-18 win over the Kiwis at Mt Smart Stadium.

The win broke a three-game winning streak the Warriors had enjoyed over the Blue and Golds while their record at this venue was five straight wins over the visitors prior to Parramatta thrashing them.

Interestingly games between these sides aren’t close so margin players could be tempted to go for a big result whichever way they want to go. The average winning margin for either side in the past seven clashes is 23 points.

Dare we say it but we are going to take the price about the Warriors ($1.82 with bet365) to get the money.

The addition of Kieran Foran to the side last week gave them a totally new look and they looked to get better as each phase of the game went on.

Playing at home for the second straight week is set to be an added bonus for the Kiwis and with one game under his belt, expect Foran to play a leading hand against the club he walked out on last year.

Parramatta’s only chance is if they can recapture the sort of form that saw them put 34 points on the Dragons back in Round 2. They haven’t looked anywhere near as lethal since.

TIM MANNAH – go for value and pick the big fella to open the scoring
