SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS vs GOLD COAST TITANS - Friday night 7.50pm, ANZ

Despite losing 3 on the bounce, the Bunnies have been in winnable positions against some very strong teams, including the Storm and Broncos in recent times. The Gold Coast have lost 3 on the bounce but have been bitterly disappointing in doing so, none moreso than their recent spanking at the hands of the Warriors at home last week.

I believe the Bunnies will make a statement here. They are due a win, field a very strong team against a side whom are decimated by origin commitments. No Hayne, Peats or Wallace, and you can add Elgey and Lawton as outs which are going to hurt them no end. As such, it is going to be an insurmountable hurdle to climb, I am tipping SOUTH SYDNEY in a cakewalk. SOUTHS 13+ winning margin ($2.10) looks a bet, and ALEX JOHNSTON ($8) will be hovering on the flanks waiting for the pill to be fired wide early doors, he looks good First Try material.

MELBOURNE STORM vs NTH QLD COWBOYS - Saturday evening 5.30pm, AAMI Park

The game of outs – Storm lose Slater, Smith, McLean, Chambers, Blair, Cronk, Galsby whilst the Cowboys go in without the likes of Thurston, Morgan, Hess and Cooper. Big losses all round to both teams. So which way do you go?  The Storm take the favourites tag according to betting, but I think the value lies with the COWBOYS ($2.25+) whom will give these boys a real fight.

The Cowboys probably have a better team without their big guns, negated somewhat by the home ground advantage to the Storm, but you still see Coote, Winterstein, Granville, Bolton and Taumalolo on the team sheet, and that is good enough to secure victory here. Teams generally never belt a Storm outfit no matter who is missing, so some good value can be taken via the COWBOYS 1-12 winning margin ($3.20) option. JASON TAUMALOLO ($26) is a rampaging bull at the best of times, look to him to provide leadership and set the example with some big bursts close to the line early on, hopefully he can crash through the Storm defence to dot down first at big odds.

CRONULLA SHARKS vs WESTS TIGERS - Saturday night 7.30pm, Shark Park

Cronulla are a team of proper first-graders not playing like it at times, whilst the Wests Tigers are a team full of players not up to first grade standard trying to play first grade. It is chalk and cheese. The Tigers were walloped by the Roosters in tricky conditions last week and it will be a very tough assignment for them at Shark Park on Sat night.

The SHARKS will be too good at home. I know their record at home is a bit questionable this season, but they simply have too many decent cattle not to give the Tigers a drubbing. This is why SHARKS 13+ winning margin ($2.35) looks a belter of a bet. They will cover the line too, we will leave that to the Big Marn’s multi.

As for First Try Scorer, SOASIA FEKI ($9) is truly an unsung hero of the premiers, he loves nothing more than scoring spectacular tries in front of his home faithful, so have a few coins on him to score first.

PARRAMATTA EELS vs ST GEORGE-ILLAWARRA DRAGONS - Saturday afternoon 4.00pm, ANZ

I was really disappointed with the Dragons last week although I tipped the Dogs to get up, and think they have their work cut out here. The Eels copped a hiding at the hands of a Thurston-led Cowboys last week so both teams will be keen to bounce back.

With Frizzell and Dugan out for the Dragons, back in Sydney at ANZ, I am looking towards a PARRAMATTA victory. I don’t expect it to be a cakewalk, so we can look to the PARRAMATTA 1-12 ($3.00) as the play here, whilst the locomotive SEMI RADRADRA ($9) is the go to score first.
