ROOSTERS v SOUTHS - Friday night 7.50pm, Allianz Stadium

Souths looked like the premiers in waiting last week against my Panthers! I honestly haven’t seen them play that well since their 2014 premiership winning season. To be fair though, everything they tried came off, so you have to wonder if the performance is repeatable… Stuff it, I think it could be! Get on the Bunnies for a dominant 13+ win over the undermanned Roosters.

No surprises for guessing my first tryscorer pick for this one – Alex Johnston is the man! 5 tries last week was an incredible performance and you just know he will be looking to get his hands on the ball as much as possible.

Outright Match Winner:

SOUTH SYDNEY

Margin Betting:

SOUTH SYDNEY 13+ Winning Margin

First Try Scorer:

ALEX JOHNSTON

PENRITH vs MANLY – Saturday Night 5.30pm, Pepper Stadium

Look, I’ve been tipping Penrith all year and there’s no denying they’ve been major disappointments. Call me stupid, but I’m going to tip them again here. They’re at home, coming off a massive loss… If they’ve got any pride they will have a real dig this game.

I just think Manly are due for a loss and Penrith is the team that can do it. They’ve already beaten Manly once this year and in the corresponding fixture last year the Panthers won by 30 – that’s good enough for me! For a bit more value let’s go Penrith HT / FT and get behind Tryone Peachey for first tryscorer.

Outright Match Winner:

PENRITH PANTHERS

Half / Full Double

PANTHERS HT / FT

First Try Scorer:

TYRONE PEACHEY

STORM vs EELS - Saturday night 7.30pm, AMMI Park

Seriously, if Parramatta lose to Melbourne here they do not deserve to make the eight. I can’t event count the number of players out for the Storm due to Origin. It’s ridiculous!

As much as everything points to a comfortable Eels win, I can’t help but expect Melbourne to do what they normally do and keep this one tight despite missing all their guns. For that reason, just take Parra 1-12.

Bevan French has been looking electric every time he gets the ball so it’d be rude to not give him the nod for our first try scorer tip.

Outright Match Winner:

PARRAMATTA

Margin Betting:

PARRAMATTA 1-12 Winning Margin

First Try Scorer:

BEVAN FRENCH

BULLDOGS vs KNIGHTS - Sunday afternoon 4.00pm, Belmore

Huge game for Josh Reynolds this one. It will be his last game at Belmore in Bulldogs colours. Reynolds really needs to lift his team here, as they looked very average against the Eels last week.

The Bulldogs record at Belmore of late is far from fantastic, but they will be desperate to get the win at their spiritual home. In saying that, I think the Knights have what it takes to give them a run for their money, so let’s back them with the +7.5.

I still think the Dogs will narrowly get over the line though, so take them 1-12. Your best first tryscorer option is Nathan Ross, he is performing well every week.

Outright Match Winner:

BULLDOGS

Margin Betting:

BULLDOGS 1-12 Winning Margin

Line Betting:

NEWCASTLE +7.5

First Try Scorer:

NATHAN ROSS
