Broncos 13+

Approximate Odds: $15

BRISBANE BRONCOS vs PARRAMATTA – Thursday 7.50pm, Suncorp Stadium

The Broncos are going to be out for a bit of payback after the Eels dusted them up the last time they met. That match was only a few weeks ago and after racing out to an early lead, Parra overhauled them and made them look pretty ordinary at the finish.

In hindsight it was probably the best thing for the Broncos who have looked like worldbeaters since them. Their lift in form has coincided with the likes of Anthony Milford and Ben Hunt leading the way.

I think BRISBANE will be too good and am even tipping them 13+.

Outright Match Winner:

BRONCOS

BRONCOS 13+

CANBERRA RAIDERS vs NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS - Friday 6pm, GIO Stadium

Both sides will be playing for pride and not much else.

Newcastle have improved in recent weeks and I think they can push the Raiders who for mine, haven’t really shown what they are capable for most of the season.

The Knights do have some injury concerns but Nathan Ross has been named to come back into the side and that will be a big boost for them. Despite that, I am going for the Raiders especially with the game being in Canberra but I’m definitely not confident at the short odds.

Let’s go for some value here and take NEWCASTLE with the start (Line 15.5). Newcastle can tend to start a game fast as well so Shaun Kenny-Dowall is our man for 1st Tryscorer.

Outright Match Winner:

RAIDERS

KNIGHTS +15.5

WESTS TIGERS vs NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS - Friday 7.50pm, Campbelltown Stadium

Friday night footy has thrown up a very interesting clash.

The poor old Cowboys have suffered injury upon injury this season but they may get a few back for this with Lachlan Coote, Antonio Winterstein, Michael Morgan and others named. If they do start then I am definitely keen to take the odds about them winning this.

Wests Tigers are playing an improved brand of football over the past month and will definitely fight all the way in front of their fans, however, I think the COWBOYS will be a bit too good at the finish and book themselves a finals spot in the process.

A big congratulations goes out to Bayley Sironen who is named to make his debut for the Tigers!

Outright Match Winner:

COWBOYS

Margin Betting:

COWBOYS 1-12

GOLD COAST TITANS vs CANTERBURY BULLDOGS - Saturday 3.00pm, Cbus Super Stadium

This is probably the hardest game of the round to pick.

I am going for the Titans simply because of all the turmoil that has gone on up there this week and I expect them to come out firing.

A big plus is the return of Agnatius Paasi. I really like this guy and he will make a world of difference to the Titans along with Jarrod Wallace while the ‘man of the moment’, Jarryd Hayne, could have a breakout game for the home side.

The Bulldogs were full of enthusiasm last week but can they maintain the rage for a second straight week? I don’t think so.

Call me silly but I am tipping the GOLD COAST and even willing to lay a few dollars down on them winning 13+.

Outright Match Winner:

TITANS

TITANS 13+

MELBOURNE STORM vs SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS - Saturday 5.30pm, AAMI Park

The Storm just keep on winning and it won’t be any different here.

Melbourne are my tip and although Souths are much improved in recent weeks, the 13+ Winning Margin has really caught my eye.

I am not sure whether or not Craig Bellamy will rest any players, like he did with Cooper Cronk last week, but even if he does MELBOURNE just look too strong.

Expect Souths to stick with them early though and they have a big plus with the return of Sam Burgess.

The best play in this is for value and with the 13+ Winning Margin, look to Josh Add-Carr for your first tryscorer bets. I love both him and Vunivalu.

STORM 13+

CRONULLA SHARKS vs SYDNEY ROOSTERS – Saturday 7.30pm, Southern Cross Group Stadium

This game is going to be an absolute cracker!

Cronulla has been terrible at home but good on the road while the Roosters have a better record at home than on the road.

Going for the SHARKS here because of their really good recent record against the Roosters which has now stretched to six games. Remember, they did give them a touch up the last time they played which was at Gosford around two months ago.

Take the 1-12 Winning Margin because I don’t think there is a great deal between the sides but I am leaning towards Cronulla. I saw a few improved signs from them last week including some from the players like Andrew Fifita and James Maloney.

Fifita is a wrecking ball on his day and can win a game on his own. He is my value bet for the first tryscorer.

Outright Match Winner:

SHARKS

Margin betting:

SHARKS 1-12

First Tryscorer

ANDREW FIFITA

NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS vs MANLY SEA EAGLES – Sunday 2.00pm, Mt Stadium

I am in the corner of the Sea Eagles here simply because of their outstanding record against the Kiwis.

Manly’s form has been a big worry in the past few weeks but against a side they have beaten 12 times in the past 13 games, I think this will be their two points.

They really need to win and have everything to play for while the same cannot be said for the Warriors who are again one of the most frustrating teams of the season.

New Zealand get Shaun Johnson back for this but is that a good thing? I really don’t know. The safer play is to back Manly while margin players should take the 1-12.

Outright Match Winner:

SEA EAGLES

Margin Betting

SEA EAGLES 1-12

PENRITH PANTHERS vs STGEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS – Sunday 4.00pm, Pepper Stadium

This is a desperate game for both teams.

PENRITH has been in sensational form and come into this having won seven straight while the Dragons are just paddling in my eyes.

Matty Moylan being out for the home side is a big blow but they have a deep squad and a few others coming back in so that may not hurt them too much. They are in a much better frame of mind than Stgeorge Illawarra who have struggled to recapture their early season form.

The last time they played was in Round 1 and the Dragons smacked them but I don’t think that will be the case this time around.

Penrith to win for mine and I reckon they will put a score on them too!

Outright Match Winner:

PANTHERS

Margin Betting:

PANTHERS 13+
