SYDNEY ROOSTERS vs BRISBANE BRONCOS – Friday 7.50pm, Allianz Stadium

Reckon the BRONCOS get up here despite having a few players out.

I think Brisbane may be too tough here for a Roosters side that has only been going okay and hasn’t been setting the world on fire in the past few weeks.

The chooks will try and dominate through the middle as they’ve got the forwards to do it but even still, I like Brisbane at the price ($2.35 @ William Hill).

The x-factor here could be that Benji Marshall is starting in the halves while Kodi Nikorima shifts to fullback.

Brisbane has some tough players with Origin experience too and I like that heading into a finals series. Take them to cause the upset.

Just get on the MELBOURNE STORM.

I know they are short but they are looking near unbeatable at the moment. They’ve notched up seven straight wins and the last time they lost was without all their Origin players.

That game was against Parramatta but I can’t see the Eels doing it again, especially against a full-strength Melbourne team that has been blowing away their opposition of late.

Parramatta has done extremely well to get this far but I have feeling they are going to go out in straight sets.

They come into this under-resourced in my opinion and that isn’t the recipe you want heading to AAMI Park.

The best way to approach this game is to look for some value and Suliasi Vunivalu is the man for first tryscorers. He didn’t do it last week so that means he’s due!

MANLY SEA EAGLES vs PENRITH PANTHERS - Saturday 7.40pm, Allianz Stadium

This could turn out to be the game of the weekend!

Manly belted PENRITH last week and beat them all over the park – through the middle, through the flanks and through sheer determination were able to lock up a spot in the top eight.

I don’t think Penrith will allow that to happen again and they would be hurting after that performance, so there has to be some sort of bounce back. They will also be keen to put behind them a pretty tumultuous week in the press with all the news surrounding captain Matt Moylan.

They key to this game will be Api Koroisau.

If the Panthers can contain him then I think they will go a long way to winning. Koroisau is an under-rated player and I absolutely love the way he goes about his business.

I don’t think it will be a blowout by any means and will be having a few dollars on the 1-12 Winning Margin.

The Sharks look close to a good thing despite limping into the finals.

For mine they haven’t looked like the team that won the premiership last year and I am not too sure whether they can reach those heights again in the next few weeks.

Despite that I am tipping CRONULLA to win this because the Cowboys look shot.

North Queensland have been struggling in the past six weeks and can probably consider themselves lucky to be in the eight. They won’t turn it up by any means but I think the team is busted and bruised.

Cronulla went up to Townsville a few weeks ago and blew them Cowboys off the park early. I know they didn’t really go on with the job but it was a game the home side was never going to win.

The return of Jack Bird and Wade Graham for Shane Flanagan’s side is a huge plus – that will be enough to see the defending premiers through.
