With only two games on the slate we’ve got slim pickings on bets to take. So, we’ll select the two best bets from both games and dish ‘em up nice and warm for you all to bet however you want.

Brisbane Broncos v Melbourne Storm

This game could prove to be a mismatch of teams as the Broncos travel to Melbourne to take on a rampant Storm outfit.

The Broncos held the Panthers well, but in my opinion, the Panthers didn’t offer much in attack and played extremely one-dimensional. The Broncos proved how porous their defence could be against the Roosters and facing a top tier team such as the Storm should expose this.

Melbourne runs a lot of variety in attack. Their backline sweeps will cause headaches for this Broncos outfit targeting the small Nikorima, the absence of Oates in the air and the defensive deficiencies that are the Brisbane centres.

Moga and Roberts are great for that offense. However, they’re liabilities in defence. I think Will Chambers will have a field day. He will at least be on the finishing end of one backline play throughout the night.

Look for Melbourne to roll to the grand final and the poor Broncos will be able to take the offseason to get healthy for the 2018 campaign.

Best Bet: Will Chambers to score a try + Melbourne Storm to win

Recommended Bet: Melbourne Storm 13+

North Queensland Cowboys v Sydney Roosters

The Cowboys are the team of destiny here. They’ve overachieved massively and find themselves up against the Roosters in this sizzling finals encounter.

The Cowboys are rugged enough to keep this one close. The Chooks on the other hand are erratic enough to throw this one away.

The play on this one is more to do with the weary legs of the Cowboys and the fresh legs of the Roosters. If both teams were backing up I would gladly take the Cowboys because the last two games for the Roosters have been abysmal.

The Cowboys could well and truly come over the top like they did with the Eels.

Best bet: Either Team 8 or Less

Bet: Sydney Roosters 1-12

Leg 1: Will Chambers to score a try + Melbourne Storm to win ($3.20)

Leg 2: North Queensland / Sydney Roosters Either Team 8 or Less ($2.30)

Approximate odds: 7.13
