Roosters v Storm

Sunday 7:20pm

ANZ Stadium

In what has been a tumultuous week leading into the Grand Final, we have the top two teams heading into the decider this Sunday night at ANZ Stadium.

Minor premiers Sydney Roosters go into the game on the back foot though with serious doubts over champion halfback Cooper Cronk’s shoulder. That aside, their defence against hated rivals Souths last week was brilliant and a similar showing here will get them close to the trophy. Melbourne were clinical against the Sharks and are now lining up for their third straight decider.

Although the chooks have doubts over Cronk, they receive a twin boost with Latrell Mitchell and Dylan Napa returning from suspensions respectively.

Games between these sides have been pretty tight with the average winning margin being just 1.6 points in three matches since the start of the 2017 season. Funnily enough, there has also been a field goal kicked in each of those matches.

They only met once this season and it was the Storm prevailing in an epic 9-8 decision over the Roosters at Adelaide Oval. A Cameron Smith field goal was enough to win the match, however, it could have easily swung the other way if Latrell Mitchell had done better than his 2/4 goal attempts including one which was beside the posts and he missed.

Overall the head-to-head record favours the Storm with four wins in the past five clashes.

Whichever teams executes the best will win this game. There is very little separating them with just eight points splitting them on For and Against during the regular season.

Despite the fact that Cronk is a longshot to play, we are going for a slight upset and taking the even money about the Roosters winning their first Grand Final since 2013, spoiling Billy Slater’s farewell party in the process.

Best Bet: Roosters (Win) @ $2

Value Bet: Roosters 1-6 (Winning Margin) @ $4.50
