Summary: The Newcastle Knights are here ladies and gentleman. Last year they were labelled as the real deal, but due to injuries, learning curves and an underpowered forward pack failed to truly fire. The Knights will be looking to cap off a great 24 months of recruiting with true contention in the competition. The spine of Pearce and Ponga has proven to be a great building block for the rest of the squad to form around. The recent acquisitions of Klemmer as the team’s premier bookend and weapons like Ramien and Lee being poached from the Sharks will add the starch and the strike the Knights were missing at the tail end of last season. The Sky is the limit for the Novacastrians.
Key stat: The Knights ranked #14 in ineffective tackles in 2018
