This weekend's 4 Best Bets
Four leg multi tip: NBA, A-League, Super Rugby & Entertainment
Sunwolves vs. Rebels (Super Rugby)
The Sunwolves were impressive in defeat against the Brumbies last week, winning the first half before succumbing towards the end. Playing an Australian team at home for a second straight week, they are likely to once again come out firing and could be a tough proposition for a Rebels side that hasn’t had all that much match-time together. Although it must be said that the Sunwolves have never beaten an Aussie opponent, they aren’t to be written off and it may be worth having a nibble on Japanese outfit at very generous $3+ odds.
Tip: Sunwolves at the line
Newcastle Jets vs. Sydney FC (A-League)
The Sky Blues have scored 14 goals in their last four A-League matches and conceded only two. Although Newcastle has home ground advantage and has held Sydney FC to a draw in the clubs’ past two meetings, it’s hard to picture anything but a win to the Sydney side.
Tip: Sydney FC (H2H)
Philadelphia vs. Charlotte (NBA)
Despite some results going against them this week, the 76ers will be backing themselves to bounce back against Charlotte at home on Saturday. In each of the last two matches between the teams, Philadelphia has prevailed by 6+ points and scored over 100. Interestingly, the total points in six of the last seven matches between this pair has fallen between 185 and 204.
Tip: 76ers (H2H)
Academy Awards (Best Picture)
Picking up the Golden Globe for Best Drama, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri will go into the Academy Awards Ceremony on Monday as the outright favourite with Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water on the second line of betting. Although the latter has claims, only one fantasy film has ever taken out the Best Picture Oscar and in that respect the Academy is expected to hand Martin McDonagh’s dark comedy the gong.
