Manchester United hasn’t set the world alight this season. They do however come into this game on the back of a successful first leg, which they took 1-0.
The casualty ward in this one looks a little better for both sides than it did last game. Rossi, a potent threat for Celta is out of this encounter as he was for the previous tie.
United will be without the likes of Ibrahimovic, Shaw, Young and Rojo.
In terms of excitement, this will probably be the less exciting of the two Europa league clashes this week.
Celta Vigo will be vicious on their attempts to overcome this deficit and come out of the blocks hard in this one.
A lot has been made of Aspas and the Celta attack this season. For me, scoring goals in the Spanish league doesn’t really mean too much when the majority of the league can hardly defend.
This is a true gulf in class and although United has underwhelmed many this season, the Red Devils should find a comfortable victory in this one. When I say comfortable, I don’t mean a multiple goal victory. United has proven they don’t blow teams out. In saying that, it’ll be a rigid defensive performance by United looking to hit Celta on the counter.
Manchester United will be looking to bounce back after that poor showing at Arsenal. It’s no secret that Mourinho has put his eggs in the Europa League basket and not worried too much about the tail end of the EPL season.
Marcus Rashford and the United defensive line should decide this game. I definitely see a low scoring game in this one, and I also see opportunities for Rashford to pop in behind the Celta defence, as they get a bit too attack happy.
This game should be a pretty easy cap. United will dictate terms, and as we’ve seen this season under Mourinho, it’s low scoring, relatively unimaginative football.
