The usual suspects should all be heading the pack. Manchester City is the valued favourite at $2.88 with Manchester United and Chelsea both at $4.50 right behind them. Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool are the only other logical contenders sitting at double digits. However, those three teams need to learn to spell the word ‘C-o-n-s-i-s-t-e-n-c-y’ before they can be taken seriously.
With this in mind, there’s value to be had in Manchester United and Chelsea given City’s inevitable collapse. With Chelsea getting the Choccies last year, this is the year for Mourinho to pound his chest once again as he leads Manchester United to the title at the end of the season.
The additions of Lukaku replacing a frail Ibrahimovic and Matic shoring up Manchester United’s number 1 problem area from the last 10 years will be the reason for their triumph.
Tip: Manchester United
When looking for a top 4 finish you have to pick a side that not only has the metal to bang with the big boys, but also has value in their price.
Look no further than the Spurs. Those cheeky little Tottenham supporters have been quite vocal in recent years haven’t they? Mauricio Pochettino has brought a real competitive fervour to the club.
They’ve finished in the Top 3 the last two years and been just out of the four for the three years prior. Not much value but they’re a lock for a top 4 spot.
If you’re hunting for value, I suggest taking a flyer on Everton. With Lukaku out the door and childhood legend Wayne Rooney coming in, that’s just the recipe for motivation the Merseyside Blue squad would need to contend.
Schneiderlin, Bolasie and Sandro will light up the pitch. From showings in the preseason, this Everton team is playing like a proper squad with unselfish play and a real chemistry unseen from the Toffees in recent years. Could be a worth some dollars if you’re looking for a long shot at the $11 mark.
Can I just take the time to say how happy I am Sunderland was relegated. They were such a tease for relegation over the last half decade it was about time they went down.
Moving right along, this year, you can book that Swansea is going down. Sigurdsson will be a huge loss for the Swans and the spine of this team just isn’t fit to keep them afloat in the Premier league. As Unibet’s price on them at $3.25 has them, they sit quite nicely between being realistic and offering value.
Having such a lowly defence will be their undoing. They haven’t bolstered their backline and these Swans will be sent packing come seasons end.
Which team brought in a striker that fits their sometimes-unimaginative style of play? You guessed it Manchester United.
Romelu Lukaku is a perfect fit for Manchester United and his mix of speed and strength combined with the number of opportunities for him to go yard has him pegged to push favourite Harry Kane for the golden boot.
The addition of Matic in the middle of the park will also give United a boost in possession and opportunities. All of which will give Lukaku more chances to shine.
Bet 365 has Lukaku at a realistic $5 slot. Lukaku will roar to top of the goal scorer charts.
Tip: Romelu Lukaku
