A-League – Sydney FC vs. Melbourne City
Both Teams to Score - $1.87
After thumping city rivals Western Sydney 5-0, the league leaders have now won four on the trot, and 3rd placed Melbourne City are going to need something from this one to stay in the title race as they lie six points behind, with an inferior goal difference to boot. The visitors have won three of four road trips so far, including at 2nd placed Newcastle Jets in their last away day, and are one of only three teams to escape the Allianz Stadium with a point since the start of last season. However, we’re not confident taking Sydney on given they’ve won 11 of their last 12 at home, but since they’ve only kept one clean sheet in five there this term, while Melbourne have only failed to score in three of their 37 matches since the start of last season, both teams to score stands out as the value bet.
Randwick Race 4 – Inglis Nursery - 1000m.
No 10 Miss Invincible - $4.60
She was fantastic first-up in what should work out to be a very good race. She did a lot wrong in the run there and the 1100m on debut really found her out. She now comes back to the 1000m here which is a move that should suit much better. From the wide gate of 13 she will be able to jump and cross them and if she gets across with no issues, good luck catching her.
English Premier League – Manchester City vs, Tottenham
Total Goals Over 3.5- $2.26
Since drawing with Everton in their opening fixture, Man City have been faultless at home, winning seven in a row while netting 27 times. They had to leave it late against both Southampton and West Ham, but Guardiola seems to target these encounters with his main title rivals. They’ve been superb against the ‘Big Six’ this term, going to Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge and dominating possession, while comfortably overcoming Arsenal and Liverpool at the Etihad by an 8-1 aggregate score. A win here would make it five in a row against the top-six, while Spurs are W1-D6-L10 travelling to fellow ‘Big Six’ teams under Pochettino, including five defeats in their last six.
However, City have just one clean sheet in their last five at the Etihad and the visitors certainly have the tools to hurt their hosts at the other end. We’re backing Over 3.5 Goals as it has occurred in four of City’s seven home matches versus ‘Big Six’ opposition under Pep.
NFL – New England Patriots @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh Steelers - $2.28
A huge game in Pittsburgh which will ultimately decide who gets home advantage for the AFC playoffs come January. The Steelers keep finding a way to win and have now won eight in a row including four of their last five games with a last-minute field goal. The Patriots lost in Miami last week and are the away favourites here and we don’t think that’s right on this season’s evidence, so Pittsburgh against the odds is our pick.
NFL – Dallas Cowboys @ Oakland Raiders
Dallas Cowboys -3.5 - $2.06
This game pitches two teams with slim playoff hopes, but the Raiders have some offensive issues to overcome after not scoring a single point for 52 minutes against the Chiefs last week.
Dallas are without key running back Zeke Elliot, but it hasn’t stopped them accumulating 68 points across their last two versus the Giants and the Redskins. It’s hard to see how the Raiders score enough to cover here, so Dallas with the line is the pick.
Good luck on the punt!
