Liverpool were given a scare against Palace last weekend, going a goal down but eventually coming back to secure the full three points. With that win, the Reds have now won five of their last six games, while they shut out the opposition in half of these. In fact, the visitors have kept a clean sheet in five of their last nine trips to Goodison Park, winning to nil in four of these. They come up against an Everton side that has lost eight of their last 10 against the Big Six, failing to score in six of these, and so we fancy Liverpool to repeat this trick.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are currently joint top with Man City on 37 league away goals so far this term. That averages out at over two goals per game and when looking at their last 15 away games in all competitions they’ve scored as many as 45. Furthermore, the Toffees had more than two goals in six of their last eight outings, suggesting this will be a high scoring and entertaining encounter. In fact, Everton have shipped at least three goals in six of their last nine against the top six.
The Reds have managed to net the first goal in nine of their last 11 away matches against non-Big Six sides, which has mainly been down to the relentless strike force of their front three. Mohamed Salah has been the stand out of them, currently on 29 league goals, but on the road the Egyptian international has been at his deadliest against tiring defences as he’s netted the final goal in three of their last four away games.
