Arsenal v Cardiff - 6:45
To kick off, I’m backing Arsenal to beat Cardiff at home with a -1 handicap.
The Gunners, despite their FA Cup exit against Manchester United last Friday, are formidable at The Emirates. Unai Emery’s side have won nine of their 12 league matches at home – losing just once to Manchester City.
More encouragingly, they have won eight of these matches by two goals or more, which is a cracking record to take into their clash with The Bluebirds.
Neil Warnock’s men have lost eight of their 11 on the road – including five by over a single goal – which makes this one hopefully somewhat of a banker.
Wolves v West Ham - 6:45
Wolves and West Ham are two of the more inconsistent sides in the division, although I’m backing the home team to come out on top on Tuesday.
The Hammers have lost their last two away games 2-0 (against Burnley and Bournemouth), and although Wolves have lost as many home games as they’ve won this season, they have more momentum heading into this – following their thrilling 4-3 victory over Leicester.
A repeat of Wolves’ 1-0 win at The London Stadium would do us nicely.
Man Utd v Burnley - 7:00
Manchester United to beat Burnley with a -1 handicap is my third pick.
The Clarets are unbeaten in four Premier League matches (against West Ham, Huddersfield, Fulham and Watford), although I still see them succumbing fairly convincingly to a flying United side.
While it probably won’t be a repeat of Manchester City’s 5-0 FA Cup demolition, United have now won eight in-a-row, six of which by two goals or more.
Even though Burnley are much-improved, I’m backing a solid home victory.
Newcastle v Man City - 7:00
He’s been in and out of the side with injury issues over the past few weeks, but Sergio Aguero will be fit and firing on Tuesday to line up against Newcastle.
The Argentine’s record against Newcastle is absolutely phenomenal: 14 goals in his 10 appearances. No side has conceded more against him.
Aguero to score at any time is a good prospect; this record, coupled with his love for playing Newcastle, makes for a deadly combination.
