A-League Best Bets & Multi - Round 21
Little action this week due to the split round
Brisbane Roar vs. Western Sydney Wanderers – Friday 7:50pm (AEDT) – Suncorp Stadium
The final two games of the round will be played over the weekend starting with this clash and we are expecting to see goals – and plenty of them!
Two teams with nothing to lose, the Roar scored two absolute screamers last round in a 5-3 romp over the Mariners.
Eric Bautheac opened proceedings with a bicycle kick before Alex Lopez thundered in a volley to tee up a resounding victory for Darren Davies' side. It was a glimpse of what could have been for fans who have watched the high-profile pair struggle to display their class consistently amid a poor Brisbane season
We expect another goal fest and with the Roar having put five on the board last time out, we are banking on them finding the back of the net on a few occasions this time around. What’s more, we are banking on the Wanderers to trouble the scorer too!
Central Coast Mariners vs. Wellington Phoenix – Saturday 7:50pm – Central Coast Stadium
The Mariners are bound for the spoon. They have had a shocking season and one to forget – bottom of the table, most goals conceded, least goals scored… the stats are tough reading.
They host the Phoenix who are fresh off a loss to Sydney FC and desperate to get back on track and we think this is the game to do it.
It’s time for Mark Rudan’s side to get back on track with a convincing win. If it’s not convincing then they will be in the finals just to make up the numbers and that’s even if they make it as a resurgent Newcastle side has put themselves back in contention.
This should be a home run – Phoenix run riot, expect Sarpreet Singh and Roy Krishna to make their way on to the scoresheet.
