Everton v Arsenal Tips & Betting Preview
Arsenal's travel sickness threatens to derail their top four push.
Is the top four there for the taking for Arsenal?
Perhaps that declaration is a little premature, but with Spurs, Manchester United and Chelsea all finding the going a little tough during this gruelling run-in, Unai Emery’s men have surged into their beloved fourth-place, and are destined to get over the line, right?
Well, I’m not so sure. The Gunners are outstanding at The Emirates, but a really poor record on the road (one win in eight) doesn’t much look like changing, and considering five of their remaining seven matches are away from home, Arsenal fans shouldn’t start popping champagne just yet.
That said, Everton have two wins from their last nine at Goodison Park, so it’s not like Arsenal are travelling to a fortress.
The Toffees have won two in-a-row, however, and the pressure on Marco Silva does appear to have gently subsided, which can only help matters.
It’s a hard one to call, but a draw does look decent value at $3.75.
Arsenal are the only Premier League side who are yet to keep an away clean sheet, and I’ll be absolutely amazed if they shut Everton out on Sunday.
With this in mind, I’m backing Gylfi Sigurdsson to score at any time.
The Icelandic playmaker is Everton’s joint-highest goalscorer this season, and comes into this with three goals in his last five matches.
The difference between Arsenal at The Emirates and Arsenal on the road is night and day, and I’m confident they can be properly got at this weekend.
$3.60* looks a really nice price, too.
Finally, I’m putting into Everton to receive more corners than Arsenal.
Not only are Everton playing at home, but they average 5.34 corners-per-match, a touch higher than Arsenal with 5.13.
