A-League Semi Final: Perth Glory v Adelaide United Preview
We are down to the final four but who will rise and progress to Season 14’s Grand Final?
Perth Glory vs. Adelaide United – Friday 8:30pm (AEST) – HBF Park
Perth looks primed to qualify for their first A-league Grand Final in seven years when they host Adelaide in the first of two semi-finals.
The Glory have taken all before them this season, losing just three matches on their way to securing the Premiers Plate and a big part of that was their form at home, where they won 10, drew two and lost just twice in 14 matches.
Perth has also been the dominant partner in this fixture throughout 2018/19, winning two of the three fixtures (both 2-0) with the other being a draw.
Adelaide comes into this game having gone the distance against Melbourne City and fatigue is likely to play its part with Marco Kurz’s men. They have been good of late though, winning five of their past six games while going unbeaten in six which is their best patch of form this campaign.
The advantage is with Perth though as they enjoyed the week off and got the rest a few niggling injuries to key players.
Goalscorer players should look no further than Andy Keogh who has a great record against the Reds. The Perth hitman has four goals in his past six games against the Reds.
When it’s all said and done at the end of the 90 minutes though, we fancy Perth to get the win and go through to the decider.
