Choosing between Squirtle, Bulbasaur and Charmander was like asking Collingwood fans to choose between their sisters. And now the childhood dilemma is has returned…

Unless you’ve been living under a rock or Barrow Creek you’ll have heard Pokemon is back, and back with a bang! The game we all fell in love with in our childhood, has released Pokemon Go, which is taking the world by storm.

There was a time blokes were wandering the streets data-capturing for Tinder, but nostalgia has taken over, and everyone’s planning trips to capture more bugs! Unlike the original Pokemon game, you can now punt on Pokemon Go!

Sportsbet are taking bets on where the first Legendary Pokemon will be found in Sydney and Melbourne. Any of the Legendary Pokemon (3 birds, Mew and Mewtwo) back in day would guarantee you at least first base, now they could guarantee you a few dollars.

In Sydney, Hyde Park is the favourite for a legend to be found at $6.00 ahead of the Opera House ($7.5). Given that Mew and Mewtwo both look very similar to cats we very much doubt they’ll be seen near water, therefore making $11 for Bondi beach and $17 for Manly beach overs. That said you’ve always got the chance of finding a bird near water….

According to our tech geeks in the office, they think $14 Botanical Gardens is the bet of the century, botanical gardens and bugs do go hand-in-hand. Other notable options given by Sportsbet include $34 for a Manly Ferry and $101 in Chris Bowen’s beard.

As for Melbourne, MCG is the favourite at $6, closely followed by St Kilda beach ($6.50). Plenty of legends have stepped out on the G over the years, it would be fitting to see Mewtwo join the likes of Bradman at iconic venue. Sportsbet have priced up Flemington Racecourse at $7.50, however we think there’s value in $12 for the Eureka Tower.

Many reports suggest Pokemon Go has more users than Twitter already, which is why Sportsbet have priced it up at $1.05 to be more popular in 2016. At the rate the game is growing, $7 for it to have more users than Facebook by 2017 could be a sneaky bet.

Scott Ludlam is the favourite to be first politician to be spotted playing Pokemon Go in Parliament, Malcom Turnbull sits at a massive $61, and Pauline Hanson is the $501 outsider…

Sportsbet are the only bookmaker providing odds on Pokemon Go, if you've not got an account get $100 to bet with when you deposit $25 here.
