WINNERS & LOSERS

\n

Winner – South African Tourism: I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here doubles as the longest-ever advertisement for tourism in South Africa. Must be loving the free publicity.

\n\n

Loser – Nick Kyrgios: The hosts threw some serious shade when they ruled the controversial tennis player out of any future I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here seasons, stating “ideally you want your celebrities to last for weeks, not minutes.”

\n\n

Winner - Channel 10’s laugh track: Received plenty of use whenever Julia Morris opened her mouth. Two And A Half Men producers would be proud of the effort. How is this lady a professional comedian?

\n\n

Winner - Kris Smith’s Rig – received plenty of air time and had the ladies speculating if he had an “elephant ****.” That PG rating is looking highly questionable.

\n\n

Loser – Africa’s sushi chefs – the celebrities managed a new Tucker Trial record by keeping down every single disgusting dish. Poor form from the I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here cooks.

The reality TV show is again being shot deep in the Kruger National Park in South Africa and has brought us twelve contestants so far, in addition to hosts, Julia Morris and Chris Brown.

Celebrities are competing for $100,000 to be donated to their chosen charity, but punters can also get in on the action. Read on for our weekly update and where to find the best odds on offer.

WEEKLY WRAP

After being placed in two teams of six, contestants unceremoniously parachuted and abseiled into the African jungle.

Team One included Natalie Bassingthwaite (lead singer for Rogue Traders, ex-Neighbours star), Tom Arnold (US sitcom star), Nazeem Hussain (comedian), Tegan Martin (former Miss Universe Australia), Dane Swan (retired Collingwood footballer) and Kris Smith (male model and former NRL player).

Team Two comprises of Lisa Curry (former Olympian), Steve Price (shock jock), Ash Pollard (reality star), Casey Donovan (Australian idol winner), Jay Laga’aia (actor from STAR WARS, Play School and Water Rats) and Tziporah Malkah (former-model and former-fiancee of James Packer).

It’s been a memorable first week. The celebrities faced a bunch of obstacles and were locked inside rapidly rising water-tanks with a host of fish, snakes and crocodiles before even making it to camp.

Challenges also included the first Tucker Trial where contestants were asked to swallow revolting sushi train treats, the Grotty Lottery where Tziporah Malkah and Kris Smith were strapped in a rotating box and covered in all kinds of creepy-crawlies and the Slip and Slide, involving a balancing act over hippo-infested waters.

Other key events involved Ash Pollard innovatively starting a campfire with a tampon, Dane Swan and Nazeem Hussain’s blossoming bromance, Lisa Curry mounting an inflatable flamingo and Jay Laga’aia providing us with the first dab of the season in mid-air. Compelling viewing.
