Eurovision 2019 Semi-Final 2 Betting Tips & Preview
Three tips for the second semi-final of Eurovision 2019.
Bookies are offering three places to each-way backers ahead of the second Eurovision semi-final, for lesser educated bettors, this means you’ll get a return if your win bet comes in the top three (if you back it each-way). The extra place opens up a bit of value in the market, especially as I’m not 100% sold on the favourite Netherlands.
The Dutch entry hasn’t been that well received this week, and they won’t benefit from strong voting allies Belgium and France not being in their semi-final. One massive benefit for the favourites is the draw, they’ve got the perfect spot.
Azerbaijan won’t be too upset with their draw and given the support since their rehearsals should be among the top three in the market. There’s a strong chance they don’t win, but I’d be shocked if they come out of the top three in the second semi-final. There has been a lot of online support for the act since performing in Israel.
Denmark and Switzerland’s draw has pretty much ruled out any chance of springing a surprise.
Unlike the Irish, Armenia will be missing a few of their main allies in the second semi-final, which include Greece, France and Georgia. They have drawn the opening spot which won’t aid their chances, especially when their song is far from memorable.
The song is pretty standard for Eurovision and won’t make the impression needed to qualify from number one spot. Following the rehearsals, I’d also argue the stage performance won’t live long in the memory of viewers.
Ireland have been dealt a bad draw, performing second in the semi-final. However, they have been lucky with countries drawn in their semi. All their big allies will be voting in this section, which includes; United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland and Austria.
With the Irish over indexing with the Scandinavian countries, the 9/1 on offer for them to qualify looks massive. This song won’t win Eurovision, but there’s plenty of others in this semi-final with less of chance. The catchy tune is well worth a punt.
