Forecast Prices: Curtiz 5/1, Anisoptera 50/1, Dark Spectre 11/4, Dromiskin 100/1, Red Celebre 16/1, Amtiyaz 3/1, Love Poems 66/1, Lemon Song 50/1, Tilly Frankl 4/1, Golden Rules 6/1, Thomas Percy 33/1, Just Albert 66/1, French Polish 14/1

Sporting Life Preview

DARK SPECTRE finished clear of the rest when third over a mile at Windsor and should stay this extra distance. The winner was rated 84 so a bold bid is expected from Ed Walker’s charge on that form. Tilly Frankl showed promise at Yarmouth on her debut and is preferred to the returning Curtiz while headgear is applied to Lemon Song after the latter disappointed here last time. John Gosden runs a couple including Golden Rules, the first foal of a winner in France and preferred to 200,000gns purchase Amtiyaz, while Red Celebre is a full-brother to a couple of winners and a half-brother to others including the high-class Red Cadeaux.

oddschecker Verdict

DARK SPECTRE appeared to come on plenty for his debut spin over 7f at Haydock when landing the bronze medal over 1m at Windsor. Ed Walker's charge could improve again for this stiffer test and, under Oisin Murphy, he is taken to open his account at the third attempt. Any money for John Gosden's newcomers, Amtiyaz and Golden Rules, would be notable, while Curtiz looked to be going the right way last year and is also worth a market check on his seasonal return.

Prediction: 1st Dark Spectre, 2nd Curtiz, 3rd Amtiyaz
