Forecast Prices: Tenbury Wells 5/1, Ilaraab 7/2, Starcat 6/1, Maydanny 8/1, The Citys Phantom 10/1, Good Birthday 10/1, Ouzo 10/1, Kingbrook 8/1, Royal Marine 12/1, Mandarin 20/1, Getchagetchagetcha 20/1, Chatez 25/1, Breden 33/1

Sporting Life Preview

ILARAAB has come on in leaps and bounds and can complete the four-timer, despite a further 6lb rise. Tenbury Wells found only one too good chasing a hat-trick at Sandown and should be thereabouts again, despite another 3lb rise. Starcat didn’t get much of a run at Doncaster 10 days ago and is well worth another try over this trip but Good Birthday hasn’t shown much improvement for a slip down the ratings and continues to look a tricky ride. Maydanny won a valuable handicap at Goodwood before a shocking effort at York so it would be no surprise to see him bounce back on this quicker surface but this trip may stretch Ouzo and Royal Marine. The City's Phantom only won a maiden handicap at Yarmouth in July, though the runner-up has franked the form since.

oddschecker Verdict

ILARAAB landed the hat-trick on his handicap debut at Beverley at the end of last month and the son of Wootton Bassett is capable of further progression, so is taken to defy a 6lb rise for that success. Tenbury Wells was denied a third win in succession when a short-head second at Sandown last month but he doesn't appear to have reached the ceiling of his ability yet, while Ouzo was fifth in a strong handicap at York last month and he could have more to offer up in distance.

Prediction: 1st Ilaraab, 2nd Tenbury Wells, 3rd Ouzo
