Sporting Life Preview
After a narrow victory at Punchestown, Fighter Allen stepped into Grade 2 company at Navan but pulled hard and was soon done with. TORYGRAPH was very impressive over the trip at Fairyhouse and Jack Kennedy is likely to make good use of his obvious stamina in this small field, though Heather Rocco will ensure there is no hanging around. The winning point-to-pointer was equally impressive over 2m5f at Limerick and normal progress suggests he'll give the selection a thorough test. The mare Angels Dawn is making her debut over hurdles after seven runs in bumpers.

TORYGRAPH looks the safest option. The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding appreciated the step up to this trip at Fairyhouse last time when staying on strongly in the straight to beat Velvet Elvis by a wide margin and that form has been boosted since. Fighter Allen is a half-brother to the unbeaten Envoi Allen and showed that he retains plenty of ability when taking a Punchestown maiden over an extended 2m5f in November. However, he now needs to bounce back after going amiss the following month when pulled up in a Grade 2 at Navan. Point-to-point winner Heather Rocco is an interesting sort having made a smooth transition to the track at the Limerick Christmas meeting. Angels Dawn has yet to win in seven bumper starts and has it all to do on her hurdle debut.
