Championship, League One & League Two - Most backed winners for the 2018/19 season.

Three sides have dominated the betting to achieve promotion this season across the Football League.

Championship – Nottingham Forest

Best Odds – 11/1

Worst Odds – 8/1

With over 32% of all bets, the East Midlands side have been the centre of attention in the transfer market under former Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka. A so-called 'sleeping giant' who avoided relegation on goal difference just two seasons ago, have made a whole heap of signings.

Forest spent a club record £13 million bringing Joao Carvalho to the club from Benfica, alongside Lewis Grabban from Bournemouth for £6 million plus a further six new signings. Forest were 28/1 just a few weeks ago...

League One – Sunderland

Best Odds – 3/1

Worst Odds – 5/2

The Mackems had a season to forget last year, but that hasn’t prevented nearly 23% of all bets being placed on Sunderland returning to the Championship at the first time of asking.

With new investment and a new manager, the Black Cats are the clear favourites to win the league and anything other than promotion will be seen as a failure.

However, Jack Ross has his work cut out as his first game in charge ended in a 1-0 defeat to Darlington.

League Two – Notts County

Best Odds – 7/1

Worst Odds – 11/2

Kevin Nolan’s first season in management ended in play-off heartache with the Magpies. Like their rivals over the road, County have indeed decided to splash the cash bringing in no less than nine new signings to make sure they avoid the play-offs this season and go up automatically.

Three of those signings cost six-figure fees. Money really does talk, as over 30% of all bets have been placed on Nolan’s side to be victorious come May.
