Man United v Leicester - Where is the money going?

Man United v Leicester - Where is the money going?

We look at what Oddschecker users have been plumping for in the big game.

The Premier League finally returns! And our curtain raiser is an intriguing affair, with a misfiring Man United taking on 2016 winners Leicester City.

Old Trafford will be full to capacity and while United are big favourites with the bookies despite their unrest, the Foxes will be hopeful of an upset.

But how do Oddschecker punters see the game going? We look at five key markets…

They are favourites with the bookies, and Man United are also overwhelming favourites with the punters. In all, 58% of bets have gone on the Red Devils (59/100), with just 23% backing the Foxes (72/11). Just 18% have the draw (31/10).

There’s an overwhelming favourite amongst punters for First Goalscorer – although it’s not who you might think! Alexis Sanchez is the man backed to score first, with 29% of the bets (43/10). Romelu Lukaku is second most popular with 16% (10/3). He may not be playing tonight, but the man being backed for Leicester more than any other player is old slab head himself, Harry Maguire (40/1).

The two most backed results are both in favour of United, with 2-1 (19%) and 3-2 (13%) the scores, available at 17/2 and 33/1 respectively. 1-0 Leicester is the third most backed scoreline (12%) at 16/1.

There’s more bets going for BTTS than not, which may be surprising given the low-scoring nature of the two teams. 63% have backed BTTS (28/25) compared to 37% who have backed against (4/5).

The aforementioned Sanchez is again favourite with punters in this market too, with 41% of bets going on the Chilean to be Man Of The Match (4/1). Interestingly, any goalkeeper is next backed at 12% (8/1), maybe with punters having the quality of the two goalkeepers in mind.
