Could the Redmen add to their attacking arsenal?
Bookmakers have cut odds on RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner joining Premier League champions-elect this summer, as reports suggest a move is on the cards.
The German hitman has been cut from 3/1 just a few weeks ago into an odds-on 4/9 shot to join the Merseyside club.
That’s due to a whopping 58% of all bets over the last 24-hours on Werner’s next club backing Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Elsewhere, La Liga giants Barcelona are 6/1 joint second-favourites to secure the signature of the highly sought after hitman.
That’s the same price as the Premier League’s Manchester United, who are also 6/1 to bring in the German this summer.
Bayern Munich have a history of buying up in-form Bundesliga talents, and they’re 17/2 to add Werner to their Lewandowski-laden attack.
Chelsea are 11/1 to sign the forward, ahead of Tottenham (12/1) who may be searching for a Harry Kane replacement in the summer.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “It doesn’t look like Jurgen Klopp is going to rest on his laurels, with Liverpool showing signs of adding quality to an already star-studded squad.
“Werner would be a great fit for the Anfield side as a target man, with the pace of Mane and Salah on either side of him going forward.
“Almost 60% of all bets have backed Liverpool to be the 24-year-old’s next club in the last 24 hours, with more money continuing to come for the move.”
