Golf betting odds: Finau ready for Farmers Insurance Open title bid

As usual, golf expert Niall Lyons delivered his preview of the best value golf betting odds, picking out six players for the Farmers Insurance Open with best prices ranging from 28/1 right up to 300/1.

Leading the way in the oddschecker betting so far is his shortest price tip, Tony Finau, who was tipped at 28/1 (eight places) by Lyons earlier this week but has since shortened to a best price of 25/1 (22/1 if you want the eight place terms rather than five or six).

A 'major type' venue to suit

Lyons said of Finau: “He loves this place having finished runner up last year and three other top 10s. In seven trips around here his worst finish is 24th.”

Coming next for bets placed so far is Sungjae Im. The Korean comes in at a fair, if not spectacular, price according to Lyons who added: "I was hoping for a slightly better price but I think a major type venue suits the Korean and his super touch around the greens should propel him into contention at this event a few times during his career."

Joining the big-hitting Finau and Im in the top three for single golf bets placed through oddschecker so far this week is Marc Leishman, the only non-Lyons tip in the current top five. 

The Australian, who won the event in 2020 and finished runner up on two other occasions, still carries a best price of 35/1 (33/1 with eight place terms). He already has a top 10 to his name in 2022 from the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii.

Longer odds value picks

The two others in the top five – both featured in the golf betting odds preview – are Justin Rose (66/1 with eight places or a best price 80/1) and Cameron Tringale, cut from 90/1 into a best price 80/1 (with eight places) since he was tipped by Lyons earlier this week.

Meanwhile, Mackenzie Hughes (still 70/1 at the time of writing with eight places on Betfred) and the long odds Nick Taylor are the other Lyons tips to make our trending golf betting top 10.
