Jim Crowley holds sway in the Flat Jockeys' Championship but De Sousa is hot on his heels.
Jim Crowley kept up the pressure on Silvestre De Sousa in the title race by becoming the first jockey to reach a century of winners when striking with a double at Brighton on Monday.
However, Crowley’s lead was slashed to just four when De Sousa hit back with a treble at Wolverhampton’s evening meeting, and the pair look set for a ding-dong tussle right through to the final day, which is British Champions Day at Ascot on October 15.
Despite holding a lead of just four (101-97), Crowley is firm favourite at best odds 1.33 to win the title, with De Sousa a very backable 3.5 with several firms.
Crowley appears to have some strong chances among his six rides at Chepstow on Tuesday, while De Sousa heads to Yarmouth for six rides.
