First up is the 16.20 at Hamilton where DARK CRYSTAL has been supported in from 12/1 over night to a general 11/2 chance.. A well beaten third at the track last Saturday, Linda Perratt's mare drops down a grade for this and punters obviously expect her to take advantage.
Over at Newton Abbot there has been money for ARMADYH in the 16.30. Placed only once from five NH starts, the 5yo was well beaten last time out when finishing seventh of 12 at 22/1. More is obviously expected today, 8/1 replacing the 16/1 on offer last night.
Back to Hamilton we go where the Group 1 winning combination of Joe Fanning and Mark Johnston combine in the 13.50 with X RATED. Unplaced in both starts to date, the son of Exceed And Excel finished fifth of 7 at 16/1 on his latest outing over this course and distance (good to firm) last month. As big as 16/1 this morning, 8/1 is now the best price on offer.
Finally to the 16.10 at Bath where MAAZEL is a well-supported favourite. Only going down by a nose when last seen 9 days ago at Catterick having obliged on his previous start; a 3lb rise might not be enough to prevent the top weight landing the spoils. A progressive sort who could land this on the way to better things, punter have backed the 2yo into as short as 4/5 from 7/4 last night.
