John Gosden has given Atzeni two high profile rides in Dettori’s absence.
Fellow Italian Andrea Atzeni will stand in for the banned Frankie Dettori on two of the biggest rides at the festival this week.
Atzeni will be reunited Stradivarius on day one, a horse has ridden to success in both last year’s Goodwood Cup and the Queen’s Vase at last year’s Royal Ascot. Stradivarius is the heavy favourite and is as short as 8/13.
The 27-year-old Sardinian is also booked in for three other rides on day one and if he manages to grab a couple of winners, the 4/1 about him for Top Jockey will be long gone. He will be on board Sussex Stakes favourite Without Parole the following day.
All this means the flat jockey is an extremely popular bet in the last 24 hours. He accounts for 42% of bets on the Goodwood Top Jockey market.
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek: 'Someone normally profits from another's misfortune, and Atzeni looks set to do so from Dettori's ban. Stradavarius and Without Parole will be two of the bookies' worst results of the week, so they will be hoping to avoid the double whammy of a top jockey payout too.'
