We’ve taken a look at who has impressed us during the auditions and boot camp.
The X Factor auditions have come to an end and we’ve seen the first stages of boot camp where the final number of contestants has been cut down to under 60. This weekend we see the dreaded six chair challenge where we will see the true potential of the remaining acts. We’ve taken a look at who has impressed the bookmakers so far in the competition.Matt Terry
Matt Terry impressed the judges in the auditions with his own version of Ben E King’s Stand By Me. He delivered another excellent performance at boot camp which prompted Simon to say “best audition” of boot camp so far. The bookmakers have installed Terry as the early favourite at 3/1 after those comments. If you had placed a bet on Terry after his first audition, you could have got 10/1 on the 23 year old to win the show.Caitlyn Vanbeck
Caitlyn Vanbeck had an outstanding audition where Simon Cowell compared her to Kelly Clarkson. The 19 year old impressed all four judges with Louis Walsh calling her the best singer in the competition. At boot camp she continued to impress the judges with Simon commenting on her performance as “seriously outstanding”. Bookmakers believe she has a strong chance of winning the show and you can get odds of 4/1.The Brooks
The Brooks made a successful return to the show and have comfortably made it through to the six chair challenge. The boys auditioned for the show in 2014 and made it to judges’ houses but Louis Walsh didn’t take them through to the live shows. In the past two years they have improved and impressed the judges in their first audition. You can get 6/1 that the twins will go all the way however, if you had backed them after their first audition you would have got 14/1.Christopher Peyton
Christopher Peyton blew away the judges with his version of I’ll Rise by Ben Harper/Maya Angelou. Peyton is from USA originally but he has been living in the UK for over 20 years. Already hugely popular with the public, the 47 year old is already being backed as one of the favourites to at 10/1. Two days ago you could have got 33/1 on Peyton to win the X Factor.Honey G
Honey G is from London and she’s a recruitment consultant turned rapper. She has controversially made it through to the six chair challenge even though she is arguably the weakest singer in the competition. Each series there is always one contestant that reaches the live shows for entertainment purposes and with Sharon Osbourne mentoring the Over 25s, anything is possible. Honey G has been installed at 100/1 to go all the way.
