Thursday Night Football sees two in-form teams face off in Charlotte.
Eagles @ Panthers - Friday 01:25 - Sky Sports Arena
At the start of the season there were question marks on Carolina's and Philly's QBs. But Cam Newton and Carson Wentz have both impressed in the first five weeks, meaning that this game comes with real enthusiasm for the neutral. Newton has looked healthy and is really finding his groove with a 98.5 Passing Rating for the season. Wentz has come into his second year looking like a different player, throwing 4 TD's on Sunday against the Cardinals and looking like a real franchise leader. Neither team has played their best football yet but there is enough on both offences to suggest that there will be plenty of points in this one. Back over 46.5 points.
Carolina are the favourites on the points spread, but don't write off the Eagles just yet. Wentz has been looking like a million dollars because the team that is surrounding him are firing on all cylinders. TE Zach Ertz is arguably the best in the league in his position right now, and RB LeGarette Blount is providing some relief in the running game, averaging over 5 yds per carry in each of his last three games. It's tempting to back the Eagles outright, but the Panthers' confidence will be sky high after wins at New England and Detroit. Go for the Eagles on the +3.5 Points Spread.
The aforementioned Ertz scored on Sunday and will be targeted in the Redzone by Wentz unquestionably. He is a big price to score the first TD and it is worth a small punt.
