Surrey haven't won the competition since its inception back in 2003
Surrey v Birmingham - Friday 19.00
Surrey finished second in the South group, hitting form at just the right time winning their last three games. Aaron Finch lead the way hitting 450 runs at almost 41. Former England bowler Jade Durnbach has been impressive this year, taking 15 wickets, with Sam Curran taking 13 and older brother Tom 12.
Birmingham have relied heavily on Sam Hain, 348 runs @ 31.63, and new recruit Dom Sibley to score runs, although fellow new recruit Adam Hose announced himself in style with his knock of 76 against Lancashire. Any side with Jeetan Patel will always be a strong one, and he’s impressed again this year taking 19 wickets and hass been backed up by Oliver Hannon-Dalby who has 12.
With a top 4 of Finch, Roy, Pietersen and Henriques it’s hard to imagine Surrey will be short of runs. With excellent T20 bowling options in Durnbach and the Curran’s, Surrey have all bases covered, and should prove far too strong for an inconsistent Birmingham side.
