The improved contract offer from Leicester is reportedly worth over £100,000 a week over a four year period.
In the bookies' minds however there still seems to be a strong possibility of Kante moving to Chelsea this summer. There were even reports that Chelsea had agreed a fee of £29 million with Leicester for the midfielder that was so pivotal to Leicester's success last season.
With this new contract being offered to the player though, it appears that Leicester are not willing to let Kante go that easily. Odds of 1/16 at some bookies seem far too short, with the outcome far from a foregone conclusion.
Having kept Jamie Vardy out of the clutches of Arsenal and with Mahrez expected to stay as well, they will be confident of keeping Kante at the King Power for at least another season.
Chelsea are currently best odds of 1/2 to sign Kante by September, while Leicester are 9/4 and that is definitely where the value is.
