Could the Foxes forward have a seat on the plane?
Bookmakers have slashed odds on Leicester City’s Harvey Barnes making England Euro 2020 squad, with the winger one of the most popular bets to go.
Odds have been cut from 20/1 into as short as 6/1 that the Englishman is involved in Gareth Southgate’s plans this summer.
That’s due to the high influx of bets on Barnes going, with 14% of all bets in the last 24 hours backing him – the most out of any player in that time period.
He faces stiff competition from other wingers/forwards for a place, however, with Jadon Sancho priced at 1/10 to make the plane.
Marcus Rashford is 2/9 to make the 23 man squad, and Callum Hudson-Odoi is 2/1 to make the major international tournament.
WhoScored.com revealed to Oddschecker that Barnes has registered the most assists from open play (6) this season.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Harvey Barnes has been a key component of Leicester City's success this season; so much so that he's now being touted for that all-important England call-up.
As impressive as Barnes has been this campaign, the competition for places, particularly in an attacking sense, is red-hot as far as Gareth Southgate is concerned, and the 22-year-old will need an outstanding end to the season to book a ticket onto the plane.
