Eintracht Frankfurt are in serious trouble. They were fantastic last season, but since losing their three best players, Adi Hutter has simply not been able to turn the fortunes of his side around, and they are now perilously looking over their shoulders towards the relegation play-off.

Tuesday’s hosts can count themselves incredibly lucky that Fortuna Dusseldorf slipped-up so late against Koln to throw two points away, otherwise they’d be in even deeper trouble than they are now.

Their game against Freiburg looks tricky to call. The visitors followed-up an incredibly impressive draw at Leipzig with a home defeat versus a useless Werder Bremen outfit, and it’s becoming fairly difficult to pinpoint just how consistent Christian Streich’s men will be until the end of the season. My gut feeling is: not very.

With home advantage largely irrelevant, I’m leaning towards streaky Freiburg taking advantage of Frankfurt’s shambolic defence.

Kevin Trapp was left helplessly exposed against both Gladbach and Bayern, and considering only seven sides have lost fewer games than Freiburg, I can see them securing points at the very least against an opposition whose confidence will be rock bottom.

Freiburg beat Frankfurt 1-0 back in November in an incredibly ill-tempered affair, and if they perform like they did against Leipzig on Tuesday, they’ll earn a point at the very least against their hosts who are in free-fall.

A Freiburg win/draw double chance at a generous 5/6 is my tip for this one.

Double Chance: Freiburg/Draw - 2pts @ 5/6
