Man City v Marseille prediction & betting tips brought to you by football expert Tom Love.
- Manchester City are already through and have topped the group.
- Marseille have an outside chance of grasping 3rd place, they have to better Olympiakos’ result.
- Manchester City are unbeaten in 14 of their last 15 games in the Champions League.
- Manchester City have kept clean sheets in 4 out of 5 Champions League games this season.
It’s been a straightforward group for Manchester City to negotiate this season, as it seems to be every year. They’ve wrapped up top spot already and Pep Guardiola is likely to rotate, holding back his key men for the Manchester derby at the weekend. Ferran Torres, Nathan Ake, Felix Nmecha, Cole Palmer and Oleksander Zinchenko could come into the side all looking to impress.
Even a City second string side should have too much for this Marseille side. The French club have been wholly underwhelming in this competition, showing very little in terms of ambition and they’ve been extremely lucky to get the results they have in Ligue 1. They need a miracle really to get the 3rd place Europa League spot and they don’t have the quality going forward to trouble this City side who are keeping clean sheets for fun.
Where is the value?
I’ll take a couple of bigger prices and smaller stakes here. Firstly, the 3-0 correct score is available at 9/1 and that looks a chunky quote. It’s a bet that has landed in 2/5 Man City UCL games and a repeat wouldn’t be a surprise here. Also, the aforementioned Zinchenko is a bulbous double-figure price to score anytime. The Ukranian loves to get forward and could even play in an advanced role, even if he does not he will get into the final third very often and will be keen to make an impression
