Wycombe v Tottenham - 19:45

Wycombe vs Tottenham Stats

  • Wycombe are unbeaten in 3 of their last 4 at Adams Park.
  • Wycombe have only lost once this season by 3 goals or more.
  • Tottenham have won just 1 of their last 5 away league games.

Betting Tip: Wycombe +2.25 asian handicap

Gareth Ainsworth has done a simply remarkable job at Wycombe Wanderers. The former player has excelled with the Chairboys and they’re holding their own in a competitive Championship this season. ‘Wild Thing’ as he’s affectionately known, has instilled a team belief and confidence to a more emotional level than many can, that gives a side like Wycombe a real edge when it comes to being underdogs and I fancy the hosts to give Spurs a stern assignment on Monday night.

Spurs cruised past non-league Marine in the last round, the likes of Dele Alli, Carlos Vinicius, Harry Winks and Lucas Moura could all come in to freshen things up. Jose Mourinho certainly has the strength in depth to compete on various fronts this season and they’ve juggled the premier league with the domestic and continental cup competitions superbly thus far. This will be a much tougher task than the last round though.

The Buckinghamshire boys are as big as 15/1 to win here and I’ll be having a small tickle on them at that huge price but a more sensible play may be to take them with a +2.25 start on the Asian handicap at 7/10. This would see us make profit if Wycombe win, draw, lose by one goal or even lose by two goals. If Spurs do win I’d expect it to be a tight affair, their opponents will be a threat from set piece situations and there’s no doubt the inspirational Ainsworth and his players will be bang up for this one.
