Tottenham vs Burnley Stats

  • Tottenham have won 7 of their last 8 home games against Burnley.
  • Burnley have won just 1 of their last 6 league games.

Betting Tip: Tottenham to win and Under 3.5 Goals

Spurs progressed comfortably into the round of 16 in the Europa League midweek and Jose Mourinho may see winning that trophy as the best chance of Champions League qualification for next season at the moment.

Spurs have lacked the rhythm and verve they were playing with in late Autumn back when Harry Kane and Heung Min-Son were on fire. Teams have generally found out how to nullify that threat more as the weeks have gone on and it’s meant diminishing returns for the North Londoners.

Carlos Vinicius seems to score every game he plays and against a deeper block, his predatory instincts in the box could be a better option. Maybe Jose could play Kane a little deeper to utilise his passing ability but that’s unlike Jose.

Burnley continue to get points on the board here and there but Sean Dyche was left seething with his sides inept performance at home to West Brom last week. Going forward they don’t have much threat, especially on the road, but defensively they’re one of the meanest around.

Spurs do have the personnel to win games like this but as long as Mourinho is in charge it will likely be done the hard way. Taking Spurs to win and under 3.5 goals at 23/20 would probably be the bet here in a game that could be a tiresome watch.
