Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score

Friday night football comes from Goodison Park as a depleted Everton host an out of sorts Spurs. The visitors have won just one of their last five games and know a defeat here will see the Toffees leapfrog them in the table. If Spurs do not qualify for Europe this season and failed to win the League Cup final there will be serious questions asked of Jose Mourinho and rightly so given the quality in midfield and attack he has at the club.

The area where the North Londoners have struggled most is definitely at the back, the failure to garner a solid and stable centre half partnership has hampered them and no doubt they’ll be after a quality recruit in that position come the summer. They’ve put in the odd strong defensive performance in games against the big boys but generally it’s been their inability to keep clean sheets that sees them out of the top four race.

Everton had a great first half of the season but a really disjointed 2021. Injuries have been the bane of Carlo Ancelotti, especially in midfield. The replacements for Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Rodriguez just aren’t good enough and their emission have seen the goals dry up for Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. On home soil though they have notched in their last four games and will fancy themselves to do so again given the opposition. With that in mind, the 5/6 on both sides to score looks more than fair.
