Bournemouth vs Brentford Stats

  • Bournemouth have lost their last 3 Championship games.
  • Brentford have won their last 4 Championship games.

Betting Tip: Draw

It wasn’t long ago that these two met in Bournemouth, it was visitors Brentford who deservedly won that day in a supremely dominant performance. It is the Bees who come into the playoffs with the momentum, something they didn’t particularly have last season.

Bournemouth went on a brilliant winning run to secure their playoff place but then tailed off when they knew they couldn’t get into the automatic places. Their focus was no doubt shifting to the playoffs but with bookies having them as outsiders in this first leg, at home, shows how the pendulum has swung in the past month or so.

There’s plenty of dangerous players on either side but with first legs naturally being tight and tense affairs it could play out as a bit of a chess match. I think Thomas Frank and Brentford would take a draw in the away leg and at 12/5 it looks a reasonable play with little to choose between the sides.

Betting Tip: Vitaly Janelt to be carded

One player who looks a nice price for a card is Brentford’s German defensive midfielder Vitaly Janelt. The schemer will have to deal with the likes of Danjuma and David Brooks floating into his area. No Brentford player has picked up more cards than Janelt this season (9).
