Manchester City vs Aston Villa Tips

Betting Tip: Man City 20+ Shots

Manchester City are just one victory away from being crowned as Champions for the fourth time in five years and would make it another back-to-back winning season should they beat Aston Villa.

The hosts rack up the shots count when they play at the Etihad and they will be gunning for victory on Sunday. Pep Guardiola will be disappointed that it’s got this close as a result of his side having to come from behind to clinch a draw away to West Ham United last time out, but all his side needs to do is match Liverpool's result in order to claim the title.

Aston Villa played out another disappointing draw on Thursday night as they came from behind to draw with relegation candidates Burnley in their final appearance at Villa Park this season. Now Steven Gerrard’s side faces a quick turnaround and the Villa Boss would love nothing more than to do Liverpool a solid by claiming something from this match.

I’m expecting City to come flying out of the blocks and Villa will no doubt look to frustrate them. This should mean plenty of shots from outside of the box as well as from set pieces. The hosts should be able to register at least 20 shots in this one.

Betting Tip: BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

The ‘Citizens’ seem to make a habit of having to do things the hard way and their opposition have had far too much joy in the attacking department lately for Pep Guardiola’s liking. In fact, both teams have hit the back of the net in five of City’s last seven matches and all of their last nine fixtures have featured at least three goals.

There are usually goals when these two take to the same field with seven of the last eight meetings witnessing at least three goals and four of the last five head-to-heads seeing both sides hit the back of the net.

I’m fully expecting Manchester City to win and lift the trophy at the end of the match but I do think Villa can cause them some problems. I like the odds on their being at least three goals with both teams scoring here at a nice price. It’s landed in four of the last five meetings and I’ll have another point on it banking once again.
