Chelsea vs Arsenal stats:

  • Gabriel Jesus is one yellow card away from a suspension which would see him miss the final league match prior to the World Cup
  • Three of the Brazilian’s four cards have come away from home
  • Arsenal have built some momentum and will look to add to Chelsea’s misery after the Blues 4-1 defeat away to Brighton

Chelsea vs Arsenal Tips:

Betting Tip: Gabriel Jesus to be booked

The World Cup is fast approaching and after this clash, the Gunners have just one league game left before players involved in the tournament jet off to Qatar.

The visitors have been exceptional so far this season and sit top of the Premier League table. However, if they are able to emerge victorious in this clash against Chelsea then it would send a strong message that they’re in this title race for the long haul.

Their next league fixture is away to Wolverhampton Wanderers who realistically Mikel Arteta’s should be able to beat with or without Gabriel Jesus and given their first game back from the World Cup is at home to London rivals West Ham, Jesus serving his suspension for the Wolves match would be the preferable option.

That’s not to say he will purposely look to get his fifth booking of the season but if it happens, it may not be a bad thing in the grand scheme of things. He will need to showcase his intensity and pressing ability here and so the 9/2 on Michael Oliver showing the Brazilian forward a card makes plenty of appeal.

Betting Tip: Arsenal Draw No Bet

It’s no secret that the Gunners have been phenomenal this term and they’ve shown traits that we haven’t seen from an Arsenal side in a number of years. They battled their way past Leeds United lately and although they were held to a 1-1 draw to Southampton in their last away game, they bounced back by demolishing Nottingham Forest 5-0.

Arsenal have won both of their last two Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge, as many as they had in their previous 16 visits. Since their last meeting, I'd argue that Arsenal have improved significantly whereas Chelsea are yet to make that same leap forward.

Both sides are at a best price of 7/4 to go out and claim a victory. But I think momentum plays such a huge part of football and the visitors are riding a wave of it right now. I’ll play it a bit safer and back the visitors on a draw no bet basis.
